Person Centred Therapy
Person centred therapy was developed in the 1940’s by Carl Rogers. PCT focuses on the individual needs, wants, desires and goals. PCT allows individuals to work at their own pace and in their own unique way allowing the individual to become more accepting of who they are.
PCT places the individual at the centre of the therapy allowing the individual to explore their own issues in a non-judgemental way. PCT is about the counsellor seeing the individual’s world from their eyes and empathising with their thoughts and feelings, encouraging the individual to become empowered to make changes however big or small.
